Shorty, after graduating from The City College of New York with a Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Engineering, I started my Master’s degree studies in Biomedical Engineering with concentration in biomechanics and biomaterials. Besides my master’s studies, I am currently working as a manufacturing engineer in a lead neural-engineering company, Soterix Medical Inc. working on transcranial direct current stimulator (tDCS). My duties involve manufacturing tDCS devices for investigational purposes, assisting in acquiring FDA approval for tDCS stimulator, setting up designing for manufacturing (DFM) protocols, executing quality control systems, and implementing novel design modifications to the existing tDCS company products. My research work is involved in studying the electrical impedance properties in liver in an effort to try to enhance cancer ablation using Irreversible Electroporation (IRE). Study and modulation of the electrical impedance properties of the tissue can therefore help improve the effectiveness and safety of irreversible electroporation treatment. To achieve this aim, studies are performed on ex-vivo tissue to determine time, temperature and external agent dependent behavior of liver’s electrical impedance.
